Lisieux Bhavan, Salempur

AboutThe Salempur mission in Deoria District began on 18 July 1984 when CST Fathers started St. Joseph's School in a rented house, and moved in 1985 to 114 decimals of land on the Salempur–Chero Road. On 3 July 1987 the mission was handed over to the Little Flower Congregation and declared a CST Ashram, and the FCC Sisters opened Pushpa Sadan Convent the same day; FCC Sisters of Bareilly Province continue to collaborate. The school, renamed Little Flower School after a Misereor-funded building in 1991, returned to English medium in 1996, gained CISCE affiliation in 2001 and Plus Two in 2006, and now has 2,266 students and 114 staff. A new church blessed by Cardinal Mar George Alencherry in 2017 draws about 100 people to Sunday Mass, and village social-work programmes run under Little Flower Society and the diocesan society PGSS.Superior Fr.
