Nepal Mission

AboutNepal's 1990 constitution granted religious freedom, and after the Nepal Church became an independent 'Missio Sui Juris' in 1984 its first Ecclesiastical Superior, Msgr. Antony Sharma SJ, invited religious congregations to start missions there. Moved by that invitation, Gorakhpur's closeness to Nepal and the missionary zeal of St. Thérèse, and introduced by Fr. Paul Chemparathy SJ, the CST Fathers began at Narayangarh in 1993. Nepal Little Flower Society was registered in 1997 to give the work legal status and runs education, livelihood and cultural programmes, mainly among Chepang villages, along with earthquake and flood relief and house rebuilding. The Fathers now have four ashrams across three provinces (Parwanipur, Narayangarh, Khairahani and Shehri) and have also served the Bhairahwa mission, especially Catholic medical students there.Mission Superior Fr.
